FORT LEBOEUF SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUNDATION
Minutes
April 16, 2007

Present: Denny Fortin, Joe Gausman, Kim Heller, Benny Hunt, Rod Hunt, Ron Mennano, Kathy Proctor

MINUTES

A motion was made by Ron and a second by Benny to approve as corrected. The DaValle Scholarship name was spelled incorrectly and corrected. Unanimous.

TREASURERS REPORT

The Betty Davis Fund will be made a separate account. It presently has a balance of $770.00.

The report does not reflect the addition of the Fortin Scholarship ($13,800.) or the Brown Scholarship ($600).

Also, the report from Evans Capitol Management had not yet been received and will be forwarded.

A motion was made by Ron with a second by Benny to accept as presented. The vote was unanimous.

OLD BUSINESS

DaValle Scholarship: There has been no movement on the account for two plus years. Several attempts have been made to contact the sponsors. There has been no response. It was discussed and decided that the account would be rolled into the FOUNDATION general fund as a memorial honoring Josh DaValle. Kathy will write a letter reflecting that activity.

Dustin Fortin Memorial Fund: The Dustin Fortin Memorial Fund was established. All the appropriate letters of agreement were signed as of April 16, 2007.

It was recommended that all checks for investment be written to the FLB FOUNDATION. A check is then written from the FOUNDATION account for investment. This provides a specific paper trail.

NEW BUSINESS

Valedictorian scholarship will be awarded again this year. The honoree for this year will be Bev Schwab. She gave many years of service to the FLB School District and was very active in the extra-curricular life of the school. She also continues to be active in the life of the surrounding community. A motion was made by Ron with a second by Benny to name the Valedictorian scholarship in honor of Bev Schwab. The vote was unanimous.

NEW BUSINESS

The Sid Brown Family established a new scholarship. This scholarship has been awarded in the past, but was not an account with the FOUNDATION. The letters of agreement have been signed.

Class of '86 monies: There has been no movement with this account in the past year. Kathy will make an attempt to contact this group to find out their intentions.

Alumni group: Benny offered ideas from other schools and colleges as to how to raise money. We need to create and identify needs in the District to encourage giving. He has also looked into various types of organizational software that we could use to track and communicate with potential donors.

Discussion was held regarding the general needs we have to grow the Fund. Joe suggested that we not 'reinvent the wheel'. Kim gave an overview of what the Titusville District is doing with their FOUNDATION. We asked Kim to see if we could meet with that group for some education on the next steps that need to be taken.

Ron will look into what could happen with the present graduating class so that we are able to add their names and addresses to our database. He also suggested that we invite past scholarship recipients back to one of our meetings to give us an update and keep them involved with the process. We should make the follow up a requirement.

Rod Hunt will look into what we need to do to have a credit card payment made available through the web site.

An alumni meeting has been scheduled for May 1, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. in the high school conference room.

Meeting was adjourned at 7:50 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

/s/Kathy Proctor
