Reviewed

Treasurer's Report

None available.

New Members

Mr. Rimpa and Mr. Hunt. Their dues were given to Dr. Campbell to give to the Treasurer.

Benny Hunt was at the meeting to discuss an Alumni organization and its relevance to the FOUNDATION. He has researched groups already up and running. They usually are used as follows: Some alumni groups even have on-site offices with the local school providing computers, desks, and file space.

The FOUNDATION would need to establish an ad hoc committee that would report to the Board, but be independent in its workings. It was recommended that this discussion be carried to the next quarterly meeting for further evaluation. Mr. Hunt should be invited to this meeting.

The next meeting is scheduled for April 15, 2004 at 4:00 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

/s/ Kathy Proctor, Board Secretary

April 15, 2004

Present: Dr. Campbell, Joe Gausman, Ron Menanno, Kathy Proctor, Bev Schwab, and visitor, Benny Hunt

The meeting was called to order Joe Gausman. The minutes of the previous two meetings were read and approved.
Motion to approve: Ron Menanno
Second: Bev Schwab
Vote: Unanimous

Treasurer's Report

A copy of the latest report dated 03/31/04 showing a balance of $100,032.84 is included with these minutes as part of the permanent record.

There was a question regarding how the cost of investing is spread over all the Funds. It is taken "off the top" before the Funds are separated.

Old Business

The letters of agreement booklet for the Askey-Zalenski scholarship will be reprinted. Kathy Proctor will take care of this.

Ron Mennano will check with the family of Josh DeValle to see how they want to handle the future of that Fund.

A motion was made by Bev Schwab that the Valedictorian Scholarship this year be named in honor of Clarence Shrimper.
Second: Ron Menanno Vote: Unanimous

New Business

Benny Hunt talked about how to show interest giving back to the school. He would like to see it start as an integrated part of schooling. He would like to figure ways to show school pride. The idea is to get more Alumni to 'give back' and get them in touch with the students. We could create an ad hoc committee. A motion was made by Joe Gausman with a second by Bev Schwab to establish a committee, independent in action but reporting quarterly to the FOUNDATION Board. Vote to approve was unanimous.
Further discussion led to adding a link on the web site, school newspaper to the entire district, sign up alums at sports and school events. Things could be done each month to show activity. Benny Hunt volunteered to head the committee. Joe Gausman said he would help. They need to come back to the Board with fund raising ideas, also. Each of us also needs to bring a new member to the group.

A question was asked of Benny Hunt about selling water in FLB bottles at Heritage Days. That did not seem to be a plausible solution.

Kathy Proctor will ask Laura Breon to put a picture of the scholarship recipient in the paper.

Dr. Campbell asked the FOUNDATION to again provide $75.00 per student for those applying for college credit programs available at FLB for those with financial need. She made a motion that $750.00 for 10 scholarships be available annually to students with financial need who are enrolled in the FLB district and are qualified for Collegian Opportunity School, Regional Choice Initiative on-line or at the Skill Center. (Taken there students get three credits).
Second: Bev Schwab
Vote: Unanimous
